  V.3 N.1 Jan. 2004
The holiday season is behind us. While in the mall one day, I was watching the many faces rush past me. Most of the people I saw did not look like they were anticipating the New Year. It is so easy to get caught up in the rush of the moment, concentrating on the “musts” of our schedule that we forget passed lessons and miss present opportunities. Make it a point to slow down in 2004 to cherish and pursue God’s greatest gift of all, the privilege to know Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

  Moving On Ministry New Ministry
October 24 was the latest moving on ministry get-together. It was also the largest turnout that we have had so far with 35 people in attendance. We started off the evening with a video, challenging each of us to depend on God for everything. We then had some special music and fellowship time, with plenty of snacks for everyone. Bob Jackson also blessed our hearts with his personal testimony and challenged each of us to draw closer to God. Pastor Mahler and I were approached with an opportunity to expand our current ministry. Families that have children with special needs are often in need of answers to questions concerning their children and how best to deal with many issues confronting them. Hidden Treasure Christian School already serves as a tremendous resource for these families and we look forward to getting the chance to work along side of the school in assisting families that have children with special needs.

Schedule of Events
The next event is the Moving On Meeting Fri. eve Jan 23rd. Details will be sent to each of you.
"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7

Satisfaction Found
Bob Jackson is an ordinary name, but the life behind the common identity is distinct. After a few minutes of listening to Bob stress the “r” sound in his words, you realize, he must be from New England. But Bob’s individuality includes more than his pronounced accent. Much of his life has been a search for personal satisfaction.

Bob’s life seemed to be on track: He was married, had three children, and was teaching at a Bible Institute. Yet, there was a nagging void in his heart. The special family and vocational responsibilities failed to bring Bob fulfillment. As a result Bob directed his attention away from God and His Word and concentrated on succeeding in the business world. With persistent hard work, Bob achieved corporate success: executive status, large annual salaries, and regular travel around the country. But was Bob’s apparent prosperity the avenue to satisfaction? No, Bob’s emptiness still lingered.

Soon Bob’s circumstances started to slip from his control. A chronic back condition forced Bob to leave his employment on permanent disability. This disappointment, among others, prompted Bob to “run” from reality. Finally, with no more places to hide, Bob contemplated ending his life.

However through God’s grace, a loving wife, a caring friend, and pastoral counsel, Bob started recognizing reality. Six years ago, Bob repented of his selfishness and humbly began pursuing a living and personal relationship with the Lord. Bob has found satisfaction.
